Good Thaiday

It's Good Friday, and there's no progress on our site. When I started writing this, my football team (Broncos) was being smashed by a far superior team (Melbourne) and I wanted a distraction.

How about this, for anyone in Oran Park with no idea about internet, NBN, phones etc, I stumbled upon this site earlier today. It doesn't make much sense to me yet but might be helpful to others. I know people in Gregory Hills are going through a tough time organising their phone lines. The new stage (5B) in Oran Park is on sale April 6. The stage that went on sale months after us, has turf and trees planted already. We will likely resent those streets, at least a little, forever ;)

There seem to be some Easter sales on. We are heading out tomorrow to pick up our coffee table and entertainment unit for the living room. Our parents have asked us what we want for the last year and a half of birthdays and Christmases; and every time it's gift vouchers. Might as well take advantage of the sales!

For anyone who has shown any interest in Stephens work, I have updated the facebook page. It's mostly just plans, but better than nothing! Hoping there will be a new job or two in the very near future.

Melbourne won 32-26. I'd be losing it if I wasn't so distracted.

Something new - turf!!

We have turf!
Well, a strip of it. And it looks half dead but that's ok.

In other news, there's no other news. Except I emailed OP to get permission to take wedding photos on/in/around their big sign. I promised we wouldn't be silly buggers. Fingers crossed!

If anyone from Oran Park (landowners) is reading this...when they got to this stage, did your lot sign disappear? Ours did... Will it be back? I assume so. We really want to frame ours.

Another delay. Will we be in by Christmas!?

Well, not much has happened since I last posted. I had been following a thread on the homeone forum, and attempted to follow directions to see where our land was up to with registration. I had no luck, only found outdated info, so I contacted Oran Park. They said the DP numbers I followed were only draft numbers (so, more work has taken place since then?), and let me know there had been a further delay with our land. The land won't be registered until April or May now (or, until the next delay!?).

If we weren't worried with the last delay, we certainly are now. We will undoubtedly exceed the Eden Brae six month 'get started by this date' date (six months to lock in the contract price). Prices are due to increase this month. I don't know if they will be sympathetic to our situation, but I am expecting increases. To add to the fun, we are trying to organise a wedding. Care to place a wager on which will happen first? Will we:
a) get married first (April 2014)
b) move in first?!

So we went to the Sales Office at OP and spoke to Kim, who is awesome, and I hope they are paying her enough. Council have required some further information. Something to do with contamination on the site... Pain in the arse is what it is, but I know they need to get it right. My company does (Urban Development) work in Camden and the tiniest change or request can cause delays. It's frustrating on both sides. I just wish it wasn't happening to us :P

Oh, and since we last chatted, we have bought about 30 Murraya, 5 NZ Flax, 30 Liriope and a few more lilly pillies. At least our garden is making progress!! :)

The plan (as far as dogs and sheds are concerned!!!)
